I was reading this afternoon (Research Like a Pro) and got to thinking about my ancestors. Who served during a conflict/war? I’ve wondered this in the past, but today I created a small task to see if there was a tool or website that lets you put in a birth year and see which conflicts they could possibly have served.

I fired uo Google and it assured me there was not a tool that answered that question in quite that way. It recommended Fold3 and other resources where you can search etc. So, I simply asked it to create me a web page to do what we just discussed. I was pretty sure it would say it could not do that since this was just the Google search AI results, but it got straight to work and created almost exactly what I wanted. Fast. It looked great, right out of the gate, but I wanted some changes made, told it what to do and blamo, it was done.

What an amazing demonstration of how AI can help us do things that we want done in an easy, useful manner. From there I wanted to be able to embed it here, in the blog to share the goodness. Here is where we ran into issues. But it is really WordPress that was squawking. This is not a self-hosted site and there are limits on what is allows to be embedded. Fine. But I still wanted it on the web and I don’t have to do much to get it there.

It was very helpful and suggested places I could host it – one of which was GitHub. It provided simple instructions to get the repository setup and then publish it. Again…Wow!

For now, visit the GitHub site via the button below. I’ll keep exploring ways to get on this site as well.
